As mentioned when we first started the brief, we wanted to expand this past what has been asked of us, and in our early design sheets we established that a welcome pack would be something very handy to hand out to the people arriving at the event that had everything that they would need inside of it.
Here are my design sheets on a welcome pack design as well as a little book of disposable business cards. This is to address the fact that not everybody is going to have their own business cards designed and printed, so we are supplying them with a temporary card with which to write their details on and network.
We are going along a 'no glue' route with this project which means that the little book of business cards could be quite difficult. Through discussion, we came up with the idea of the book being held together with an elastic band and the business cards to be perforated and tear away from a strip of paper secured under the band.
The notch in the net below is to allow for the elastic band to fit through easily and allow it to hold all the paper inside of it without bending the card of the cover. The opposide side of the book also has some notches to hold other business cards that the consumer would collect from other networkers.
This is the net for the welcome pack itself. In the next post there will be photos of it made up, which will better explain how it is put together and works.
