Unable.
Due to time management and other projects taking over and being bigger than I initially intended, The Body Shop brief will not be going forward. Maybe if I have time at the end, but I doubt it.

CK One
This is quite an old piece of packaging now, I remember when these first came out. The cosmetics industry, alongside food, has some of the highest amount of wasted packaging. Fragrances are probably the worst within that sector because everything is 'limited edition' and has bottles and then wrapping and then boxes and then come in a hand crafted wooden box or something equally extravagant but unnecessary. This one, however, can be used as a speaker for an mp3 player, so as well as being aesthetically pleasing, it's not utterly pointless.

We see so many bottles of shower gel and shampoo and moisturizer in thick, solid plastic when it's really not needed, as shown by this concept design. It uses a lot less plastic than regular bottles and is a lot easier to recycle as well as combining two products in one.
Overpackaged Gift Sets
This is another example of overpackaging when it comes to the cosmetics industry. When companies make gift sets they want it to look as luxurious and 'extra special' as possible, which leads to a lot of wasted space and materials. All the products in this particular gift set could easily have fitted into a box a third of this size.
Dapper Chap and the use of Die Cutting

"The identity and packaging for Dapper Chap Mustache Wax, the Gentleman's Whisker Shaper. This collection of fine waxes comes complete with 4 enticing aromas."
I absolutely love this design and meant to blog about it ages ago but apparently I forgot. I love the way that the die cut in the side of the box links directly to the purpose of the product. Die cutting is just as effective at delivering a message as printing with ink and it has a smaller environmental impact.
